English Toffee

Toffee is a hard candy made mainly with sugar and butter. An easy recipe for almond toffee topped with chocolate. "nuts"

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoon Water
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda (at end)
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds or pecans

Directions

  1. Melt butter
  2. sugar and water on low/medium heat until it reaches the hard crack stage (300 F / 150 C) while stirring continually.

Notes

Can also add 1 tsp. vanilla extract when adding baking soda.
