Red Cabbage With Apples

Ingredients
- 2 tart apples, sliced
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 medium head of red cabbage, coarsely shredded
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
- Cook and stir apples in butter in a dutch oven over medium heat for 5 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
- Cover and simmer until cabbage is tender, about 35-40 minutes.
