Mango Habanero Basil Margarita

Ingredients

  • 3 Oz Mango Juice (or Nectar)
  • 1 Oz Silver Tequila
  • 1/2 Oz Cointreau
  • 1 Oz Lime Juice (1 large lime)
  • 1 Oz Habanero Syrup
  • 2 Thai Basil leaves, torn into pieces plus a small sprig for garnish
  • Coarse Sea Salt mixed with chili powder for color
  • 4 blueberries
  • Coarse Sea Salt

Directions

  1. Habanero syrup: bring 1/2 cup water to a boil. turn heat down to low/med and stir in 1/2 cup granulated sugar until dissolved. Add 1 Habanero sliced in half and simmer for 5 minutes. Cool/Refrigerate up to 1 week.
  2. Run lime wedge around edge of glass and dip/roll in salt mix.
  3. Add Mango Juice, Tequila, Cointreau, Lime Juice, Habanero Syrup and basil leaves to a shaker with ice.
  4. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  5. Strain into glass with ice and add blueberries and Basil for garnish.
