Shovel Knight Dig Review

Since 2014, Yacht Club Games has just been cranking out banger after banger when it comes to the Shovel Knight series, and Shovel Knight Dig is yet another turn of the crank. Developed in tandem between both Yacht Club and Nitrome, Shovel Knight Dig takes the main ideas of Shovel Knight’s 2D platformer gameplay – the shoveling, the bouncing, the secrets hidden in off-pattern sections of the wall, the Mega Man-esque boss battles, so on and so forth – and fits all of them into the...

Mortal Kombat's co-creator has explained how he came up with the game's iconic logo – and how it almost got trashed for looking like a seahorse.

On Twitter, John Tobias unveiled the original hand-drawn logo he created for the first Mortal Kombat game… and delved into its background.

“Here’s a recently discovered image of the very first drawing of #MortalKombat’s dragon icon,” he revealed. “I designed the icon as both a symbol of our game and its fictional tournament.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Multiplayer Review in Progress - Beta Impressions

Ah, Call of Duty – one of my favorite signs of autumn. Just as mornings are broken by the sound of Canadian geese migrating to warmer climates, the tranquility of my living room is interrupted each fall by the coming of the Call of Duty beta period. Modern Warfare II (no, the new one, you're thinking of Modern Warfare 2) is the latest arrival – the 19th mainline game, if you’re keeping score – and it brings with it a return to a modern setting after last year's… return to World War...

Spider-Man Modder Adds First-Person Mode (But You Can't Play It Yet)

A prominent Spider-Man modder has worked on an experimental first-person mode for the game, showing off web-swinging from the (slightly nausea-inducing) perspective.

YouTube user jedijosh920 first released gameplay of the mod with a fixed camera perspective, meaning the first-person view is steady as Spider-Man swings around New York.

This version is probably more comfortable to use but does come with some caveats, as when the player performs tricks and flips in the air, the fixed perspective...

Spider-Man's Steam Release Slings It to Third Best-Selling Game in August

Madden NFL 23 and Saints Row were the top two best selling games in the US in August, which shouldn't be a surprise as they both debuted last month. But the third best-selling game is one you might not immediately expect, given that it's four years old: Marvel's Spider-Man.

Spider-Man did so well in August because it finally got a PC release via Steam on the 12th. It's the remastered version, including all the prior DLC, and given that this is the first time it's been released on something...

EA CEO Thinks Call of Duty Going Xbox-Exclusive Could Benefit Battlefield

Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson thinks that Call of Duty potentially becoming a Microsoft exclusive franchise could benefit Battlefield.

As reported by Axios's Stephen Totilo, Wilson called questions about Call of Duty's platform "a tremendous opportunity."

“[I]n a world where there are questions as to the future of Call of Duty and what platforms that it might be on and might not be one, being platform-agnostic and completely cross-platform with Battlefield I think is a tremendous...

Two highly purchasable Switch titles have gone lower than ever before today. If Mario Golf and Metroid Dread aren't your bag, perhaps a decently discounted Mario Kart 8 is more up your Rainbow Road. On the PC side of things, I'm tracking great discounts on almost everything Bethesda, too.

Last but not least, I have a lot of time for that sizeable Gran Turismo 7 digital discount, not to mention the 50% off Cyberpunk 2077. What can I say here? Edgerunners on Netflix, you're an anime good enough...
