Super Meat Boy Dev May Be Working On a Metroidvania

Don’t get too excited, but the developer of Super Meat Boy may be working on some sort of metroidvania game, though it would still be years away.

Earlier today, a tweet from the official Team Meat Twitter account showed the developer excited about playing Metroid: Samus Returns. Another Twitter user responded by saying it “would be so epic” if Team Meat made a metroidvania themselves.

The Evil Within 2: See the Horrors of Bethesda's Sequel

Bethesda's supernatural, psychological horror series is right around the corner, being launched on October 13 worldwide, and October 19 in Japan.

We recently went hands-on with a monster-filled chunk of Bethesda's upcoming sequel a few chapters into the campaign. While the experience takes place in an alternate dimension drenched in an otherworldly dreamlike vibe, the hellish creatures we found roaming around are very, very real.

You can watch a few choice segments from our gameplay session...

Zone of the Enders’ VR Mode Is Promising

Announced during Sony’s TGS PlayStation conference, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner is getting a remastered edition for PS4 and PC complete with VR support. The entire game can be played in VR and also includes a separate VR mode that I got to try out at Konami’s booth at TGS.

Though the main campaign seems to have gotten a complete visual upgrade, the VR mode doesn’t have much of a modern polish outside of the cockpit. Still, I enjoyed the simple, polygon style. It reminded me of...

Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet Team Referred to Destiny, The Division for Gameplay

Unlike past Sword Art Online games, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet takes place in the Gun Gale Online game and features a custom character as the protagonist.

Kirito, Asuna, Sinon, and other characters for the original series are still involved in Fatal Bullet, but for the most part, Fatal Bullet’s original story (supervised by series creator Reki Kawahara) is about your custom protagonist and three other new characters. Previous SAO games have had custom characters, but the story was...

FIFA 18 Review in Progress

Note this is a review in progress for FIFA 18. While we’re confident we’ve thoroughly tested every aspect of the game, we won’t pass final judgement until we’ve had the chance to test its online components on public servers.

FIFA 17 was a season of bold, headline-grabbing ideas, with The Journey - its ground-breaking story mode - leading the charge. Following young hopeful Alex Hunter’s rise through the league was short-lived but refreshing, and the added grunt of the Frostbite...

Tomb Raider: Alicia Vikander on Filming Endurance Ship Wreck

The first trailer for 2018's Tomb Raider offers our first real taste of how the movie will adapt the recent video games. Star Alicia Vikander certainly looks the part of Lara Croft, but as she revealed to us in a recent interview, things got pretty challenging on set while filming one of the most iconic sequences from the 2013 game.

The movie will feature its own take on of the sinking of the Endurance - the disaster that leaves Lara stranded and forced to fend for herself on a remote,...
