The Red Sox lose yet another game.
A gloomy day at Fenway to end the homestand! Could the Red Sox pull a rabbit out of the hat or would they hop on a plane to the Steel City steeled by their own sorrows?
Key Moments T2: Pickoff!Given an early lead, what a slick pickoff move from Brennan Bernardino, appearing as an opener.
T3: A Comedy of ErrorsThe Sox lead the Majors with 20 errors. This isn’t fun! They also wouldn’t hold a lead for the rest...
Andres Gimenez collected two hits and drove in two runs to help the visiting Cleveland Guardians defeat the Boston Red Sox 5-4 Thursday in the tail end of a four-game series.
The Red Sox will be down a Gold Glove defender who has also been scorching hot at the plate.
The Boston Red Sox today will wrap up their series against the Guardians with Brennan Bernadino making a spot start followed by Cooper Criswell getting a bulk of the work.
Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers will have an MRI on his ailing left knee, manager Alex Cora confirmed Thursday. The two-time All-Star left Tuesday's win against Cleveland with discomfort and was not in Thursday's lineup against the Guardians.

He may not be an immediate plug-and-play, but it’s good to know help is on the way.
Good morning! Tanner Houck had the best night of his Major League career yesterday. Although three of the four Red Sox farm games were decided by 9:03 PM, when the last Cleveland out was recorded (!) and Boston had won the game, I think I can joke around and say he inspired at least the upper minor league pitching on how to sling it on the mound....

Also Tanner is our King
Happy Thursday. Tanner Houck tossed a Maddux last night - a complete game in less than 100 pitches. And he also decided to make it a shutout. We already have a strong contender for Red Sox game of the year. That’ll be hard to top.
Remembering 2004
The Curse Breakers won again to bring their record to 13-6 on the season (current Sox at 10-9). Beating the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 6-0, Boston got a home run out of...

In this episode of the show Jake and Keaton get you caught up on the first three weeks of the season.
Good morning and welcome back to another episode of “The Red Seat” podcast. It’s been a while since we were able to record an episode so this show is absolutely jam packed with information.
During this episode Keaton and I get you caught up on where the Red Sox stand at this point in the early season. Where do they rank in...

The Anatomy of an Inning Shows you how the rule 5 Pick is locking down the middle innings.
Welcome back to another edition of The Anatomy of An Inning. My name is Jacob Roy, and I pretend to know pitching better than the pitchers themselves. If you’re new here or need a reminder of what this is all about, I take an inning from the previous week or so and break it down, one pitch at a time. Each pitch should have a purpose, I’m...
The Boston Red Sox will enter their Thursday afternoon game against the visiting Cleveland Guardians with a rested bullpen. Tanner Houck made sure of that.

Best game of his life imho. | Eric Canha-USA TODAY Sports
THAT’s something you don’t see every day.
The Red Sox and Guardians did battle for the third time in three days and, readers, I missed the first few innings. It’s a long story. My car died and I lost my house keys and it’s a whole thing. Obviously I got back in the house. When I did, I learned that the Sox struck first on a freakin’ balk in the third inning by Guardians starter Ben Lively, fresh off the IL:
Red Sox...

Already deeling with multiple pitching injuries already this spring, the Boston Red Sox placed another hurler on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, a day after right-hander Garrett Whitlock (strained left oblique) left his start after four innings.

Win it for Whitlock
Welp.
Whitlock to IL. Cora expects to be short stint. Jacques called up
— Rob Bradford (@bradfo) April 17, 2024So the good vibes and hope from this morning that the Red Sox had dodged a bullet with Garrett Whitlock are (slightly) gone as he once again hits the IL. The Sox are hopeful it’ll be a minimum stay. In the meantime…well, the season that started 7-3 is has turned into a 2-6 run.
Rafael Devers is in the lineup at...

How low can they go? Stay tuned.
When I think of private equity, I think, for better or worse, of Mitt Romney. The former governor of Massachusetts and presidential candidate is one of the pioneers of the hollowing out of corporate America that’s destroying our country, its airlines, our sport, its uniforms and even its radio feeds... well, Mittens nonetheless is, without a question, a family man with a bedrock moral code. I can’t even...
