The Twins set a season high in runs on Thursday against the Tigers, thanks to three runs in the first inning, five in the second and then seven in the sixth. Logan Forsythe had a career-high five hits, while Jorge Polanco homered and had four RBIs. Francisco Liriano allowed eight runs (four earned) over 1 2/3 innings for Detroit, which got home runs from Nicholas Castellanos, Mikie Mahtook, James McCann and Niko Goodrum.
