Washington’s now dropped 31 of 43 games against St. Louis in Busch Stadium III since it opened in 2006, with losses in 12 of 14 series in the Cardinals’ home.

In the rubber match series finale in Busch Stadium, St. Louis Cardinals’ right-hander Adam Wainwright outdueled Washington Nationals’ ace Max Scherzer in what ended up a 5-1 win for the home team.
