Oakland couldn’t match a ONE-YEAR CONTRACT?

The Oakland A’s longtime shortstop and hometown star is officially gone.

Free agent Marcus Semien signed with the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, reports insider Jon Heyman. It’s a one-year, $18 million contract, per Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Semien is expected to play primarily second base for the Jays, adds Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
