Pierce is hanging around for one more NBA season.
Paul Pierce has one more season left in him. Pierce announced he will retire from the NBA following the 2016-17 season in a story on the Players Tribune on Monday.
Pierce, who turns 39 is October, will retire as one of the greatest scorers of his generation. The 10-time All-Star currently sits No. 16 on the NBA's all-time scoring list with 26,316 points. He will return to the Clippers for a 19th season before hanging it up.
