The Oakland Athletics shocked pretty much everyone on Thursday by designating two-time All-Star catcher Stephen Vogt for assignment. The 32-year-old Vogt has struggled to a .217 average with four homers and 20 RBI on the season. Without providing much in terms of defense behind the plate, Vogt’s value has always been as a hitter.
