Lemon Lime Sorbet

Ingredients

  • 3 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon peel
  • 5 large lemons to get 3/4 cup of juice
  • 3 large limes to get 1/3 cup of juice
  • lemon leaves for garnish

Directions

  1. In a 2 qt. saucepan over high heat, heat water and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook 5 minutes.
  2. From 4 lemons, grate 1 tablespoon peel and squeeze enough juice to make 3/4 cup. From 2 limes, squeeze juice to make 1/3 cup. Stir lemon peel and lemon and lime juices into sugar mixture. Pour into 9''X9'' baking pan.
  3. Freeze until partially frozen, about 3 hours, stirring often.
