Baked Apple Crisp

Ingredients

  • 6 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced (about 8 cups)
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Spray an 8 inch square baking pan with a nonstick cooking spray. Spread apples in the pan.
  3. Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg in a large bowl. Cut butter into flour mixture until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in the oats (and nuts) and sprinkle over the apples.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30-35 minutes or until apples are tender.
  5. Serve warm
