White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Brownie Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup white chocolate morsels
  • 1 cup chopped macadamia nuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Beat first 4 ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating until well blended after each addition.
  3. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients, gradually add to sugar mixture, mixing until just blended. Stir in chocolate morsels and macadamia nuts.
  4. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls, 2'' apart, onto ungreased baking sheets.
  5. Bake 1 sheet at a time for 9-12 minutes or until cookies are just set.
  6. Cool cookies on baking sheets 2 minutes. Remove to aluminum foil covered wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Baking for 9 minutes results in chewy cookies and baking for 11 minutes results in a crispier cookie.
