Beer Battered Fried Mushrooms

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups (12oz.) beer
- 36-48 medium to large mushrooms
Directions
- Combine dry ingredients in a medium bowl. Add beer and whisk until smooth. Cover and chill 30 minutes. Whisk again and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Wash and trim fresh mushrooms.
- Heat oil for deep frying to 375º.
- Holding the stem of the mushroom, dip into batter covering mushroom cap completely. Fry in batches until golden brown. Allow oil to return to 375º between batches.
- Drain thoroughly on paper towels.
