Braised Beef for Tortillas

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. beef round steak
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cup lime juice
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 1 teaspoon marjoram
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 can (14oz.) diced tomatoes, reserve juice

Directions

  1. Spread minced garlic on round steak; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Sprinkle evenly with lime juice.
  2. Place meat in slow cooker then add remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 8-10 hours until meat is very tender.
  3. Shred with 2 forks and serve with warm flour tortillas.

Notes

Serve with chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce, chopped onions, salsa, cheese, or anything that appeals to you.
