Chicago Style Italian Beef

Prep Time: 10 Minutes || Cook Time: 5 hours || Total: 310 Minutes
Servings: 10 || Yields: 10 sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds Sirloin or Top Round Beef Roast or Beef chuck roast
  • 6 Cups Beef Broth
  • Kosher Salt to Taste
  • Traeger Prime Rib Rub
  • Garlic Cloves Thin Slices
  • Fresh Ground Black Pepper

Directions

  1. Place the roast directly on the grill at 450 for about 1 hour flipping half way to brown well.
  2. Remove from grill and place in Dutch oven with 6 cups of beef broth. Reduce grill to 300 and cook an additional 3-4 hours until roast is fork tender.
  3. Shred roast and remove any large bits of fat or connective tissue.
  4. Increase grill temperature to 450 and cook an additional 15-30 minutes.
  5. Cut Torpedo roll (hoagie roll or hero roll) and fill with shredded Italian Beef, mozzarella cheese and giardiniera.
