24 Hour cabbage salad

Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt
  • 3/4 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

Directions

  1. Bring the oil vinegar and sugar to a simmer.
  2. Pour over remaining ingredients.
  3. Cover tightly and refrigerate for 24 hours.
  4. Salad will become very crispy.

Notes

This salad will only keep for 24 hours. Dispose of any remaining servings after one day.
