Crisp Wonton

Ingredients
- FOR FILLING:
- 1/2 lb. lean ground pork
- 2 teaspoons green onion, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon cooking sherry
- 1 teaspoon corn starch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 package wonton wrappers
- Oil for frying
Directions
- Combine all the filling ingredients together.
- Place 1 teaspoon of filling into wrappers.
- Fold wrapper into triangle or rectangular shape.
- Moisten sides of wonton with water and seal by pressing sides together
- Fry in hot oil in a skillet until brown on both sides, or use a deep fryer set to 375ºF
- Remove wontons from oil to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any extra oil
Notes
Substitute ground beef for the pork. You can also add chopped mushrooms, if desired.
