The streak ends
Hey, the Guardians won a baseball game today!
How, you might ask? Well, I’m glad you did.
The usual suspects had a big role to play, as Steven Kwan got the scoring started with an RBI single:
And Jose Ramirez hit a three-run home run in the top of the fifth
And, I said to myself, “why do I feel like Tanner Bibee isn’t going to be able to come out and put up a shutout response inning, even against the bottom of the...

Just what the doctor ordered! ...for the Astros, that is
The Cleveland Guardians are 0-10 in their last ten games, and the Astros are 8-2 in their last ten. Uh... something’s gotta give, right?
The Guardians are 40-48 with a -59 run differential, 26th in MLB with an 85 wRC+, 13th in baserunning runs above average at -0.3, sixth in Defense at +5, 26th in starting pitcher SIERA at 4.40, and 13th in bullpen SIERA at 3.72.
The Astros are 55-35 with a...
Will they ever win again? Maybe
A losing streak of epic proportions will end at some point, but along the way to that elusive victory, we will have lost a lot more than some games.
The words of Peter Finch’s character Howard Beale in Network ring truer today than at any point in recent team history.
“I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!”
Even in truth, these words ring just as hollow.

News and Notes for Monday, July 7th, 2025
The Guardians have lost ten in a row and face two left-handed starters and the second-best pitcher in the AL in Hunter Brown in a three-game series starting tonight.
Nicole has your recap of yesterday's latest heart-breaker here. Nolan Jones, Kyle Manzardo, Bo Naylor and Cade Smith were the main culprits yesterday, but Jose Ramirez has sadly been mired in a terrible slump the past ten games also. Steven Kwan...
The injuries have contributed to a brutal .160/.246/.272 slash line over 142 plate appearances for him, though he was starting to heat up a little with an .816 OPS and three homers in last 38 PA.

Mr. Stark, I don’t feel so good.
The Cleveland Guardians (stop me if you’ve heard this one before) were trying to avoid the series sweep today against the best team in the AL, the Detroit Tigers.
Fans were treated to an absolute pitching treat today. Going into the fourth, both Gavin Williams and Paul Skubal were throwing a no hitter. Gavin had walked the lead off batter, but with the combination of strike outs and great defense, he had a no...

Cleveland Guardians outfielder Lane Thomas returned to the 10-day injured list on Sunday because of plantar fasciitis in his right foot. The move, retroactive to Saturday, came after Thomas exited the 2-1 home loss to the Detroit Tigers after five innings on Friday and sat out the 1-0 setback to the Tigers the following day due to the injury.
As frustration mounts in Cleveland, one voice rises in defense of Stephen Vogt — and points the finger at the real source of the Guardians’ failures.
It’s a terrible thing to condemn a man for failing at an impossible job.
The Twitter polls have started. Should Stephen Vogt be fired?
The sharks are circling. The verdict feels inevitable. The media is beginning to question leadership. The jury sits eight to one in favor of a guilty verdict. And yet — I can’t vote with them. I...

News and Notes for Sunday, July 6th, 2025
The Guardians will either lose 10 in a row today or they will fid a way to beat the best pitcher in baseball in Tarik Skubal.
The team wRC+ is down to 86. This is the worst first half offense in the Jacob's/Progressive Field era, and would be the worst offense overall since 1994, as @FranmilsEyebrow pointed out on Twitter:
If the season ended today, this Guardians lineup would go down as the worst offense in the...

Another miserable loss
It was another miserable loss for the Guardians today, that is now 9 losses in a row if you weren’t keeping count. There aren’t many words left to say about this offense. It is terrible and everyone knows it, but the front office refuses to try anything to make the team better.
The pitching staff had a great day, Logan Allen tossed 6 innings and allowed just one earned run with 5 strikeouts. His ERA is down to 4.07...
The Cleveland Guardians activated Paul Sewald from the injured list and the veteran appeared in relief in Saturday's game vs. the Detroit Tigers, pitching a perfect eighth inning with one strikeout.

Recap of Friday, July 4th, 2025
Columbus Clippers (40-42) - AAABox Score
TOL 5 - COL 1
More bad news from Columbus. Other than the disappointing loss to the Mud Hens, Juan Brito injured himself running to first base in the first inning. With an apparent leg/hamstring issue, he pulled up limping and had to be lifted from the game. No updates have been posted at this time.
The Clippers sole run came in the bottom of the fourth. Will Wilson hit a lead off double to center. Jhonkensy Noel...

The Guardians lost again, their eighth in a row, and they are 10-20 in their last 30.
They banged out nine hits... but left 10 on base. It's always something, right now. And today, Logan Allen faces Casey Mize, tomorrow is Tarik Skubal, and then they go to Houston to play the Astros who just put up 18 on the Dodgers!
Given that the team did not call Chase DeLauter up yesterday, I am guessing we don't see him until...

The offensive ineptitude continues
The Guardians lost again. This time they knocked out 9 hits and left 10 on base.
Jose Ramirez broke his 0 for 21 streak with a first inning homer. He is amazing.
