Accountability a key theme through Jacksonville Jaguars OTA’s

The Jacksonville Jaguars were not held accountable under former head coach Gus Bradley, but that has changed under Tom Coughlin and Doug Marrone. It’s a positive change per quarterback Blake Bortles. When executive vice president for football operations Tom Coughlin came on board with the Jacksonville Jaguars, it was clear that there would be a big […] Accountability a key theme through Jacksonville Jaguars OTA’s - Black and Teal - Black and Teal - A Jacksonville Jaguars Fan Site -...

Can Leonard Fournette be a receiving weapon in the NFL? OTAs have the Jaguars optimistic

During his time at LSU, Leonard Fournette was rarely utilized as a pass catching threat out of the backfield. That will change now that he’s in Jacksonville, however, according to Fournette and his new coach Doug Marrone. While at LSU, Fournette only caught 41 balls for 526 yards – but according to the star running back, that was a function of the LSU offense. Fournette told First Coast News that he’s a “natural catcher.” “I’ve always been a natural catcher, it’s just the...

Myles Jack has to be every bit as good as expected for Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville Jaguars middle linebacker Myles Jack has a lot to prove after being one of the top-billed players in the 2016 NFL Draft and then doing little in his rookie season. It isn’t Myles Jack’s fault that he didn’t do much during his rookie season. During a rennaissance year for Paul Posluszny at middle linebacker […] Myles Jack has to be every bit as good as expected for Jacksonville Jaguars - Black and Teal - Black and Teal - A Jacksonville Jaguars Fan Site - News, Blogs,...

Jacksonville Jaguars: Doug Marrone speaks the truth, earns trust

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone knows that the team is far from competitive and desperately needs to improve this offseason. FILM ROOM: Jaguars fullback Marquez Williams

Ground and pound, baby.

It’s May: The offseason is in full swing and there isn’t much to cover regarding the Jacksonville Jaguars and the NFL as a whole.

So, naturally, I’m spending my time studying film on the Jaguars newest offensive weapon: 7th round pick Marquez Williams, the fullback out of the University of Miami (as watching fullback film is much more fun than watching the 2017 NBA Playoffs).

What sucks is there isn’t many skills to scout for. The main responsibility of a...

Blake Bortles has a lot of work to do, says Doug Marrone

The focus of the Jacksonville Jaguars organized team activities (OTAs) will undoubtedly be on quarterback Blake Bortles, so it’s no surprise he was the first thing that head coach Doug Marrone was asked about following Friday’s practice. The media was permitted to watch the entire practice, but there are limits to what they can say, so they’ll try to pry it out of the coach.

Thankfully, Marrone is pretty honest when you ask him a question.

“I think I would put it in the same category...

Doug Marrone: ‘We only won 3 football games. We have a lot to prove.’

The Jacksonville Jaguars held their third organized team activity (OTA) on Friday, which was followed by head coach Doug Marrone meeting with the media. Marrone’s press conferences thus far have been the polar opposite of Gus Bradley’s press conferences, in that Marrone seems to be genuine in the information he’s giving compared to Bradley pretending like everything was great.

It didn’t sound like Marrone was too pleased with what he saw through the first week of OTAs.

“I am just...

Jacksonville Jaguars Daily: Julius Thomas ‘a better person’ after struggles with Jaguars

Miami Dolphins tight end Julius Thomas: Struggles with Jacksonville Jaguars made me “a better person” - ESPN.comNew Miami Dolphins tight end Julius Thomas was very introspective Wednesday regarding his past two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Thomas admitted Jacksonville "wasn't a fit for me." He signed a $46 million contract two years ago and recorded just 30 receptions for 281 yards and four touchdowns last season, his lowest totals since his rookie year. However, Thomas said he...

Myles Jack, Paul Posluszny helping each other transition

The Jacksonville Jaguars officially announced that Myles Jack would be the team’s starting middle linebacker and Paul Posluszny would be making the move to strongside linebacker. The moves weren’t all that surprising, especially Jack making the move to the middle, as he’s clearly the Jaguars plan for the future. The move of Poz was a bit of a surprise, but thankfully the two are helping each other transition to their respective roles. “Yeah,” Jack said when asked if Poz has been...
