Vikings Off Season Plan - Pre All Star Game Edition

Well, my favorite time of year is here again. The time when the Vikings are eliminated and I can start dreaming about how they can get better and not get eliminated again next year. I believe there could be some turnover in the roster in order to free up cap space. In this version, I am going to be conservative and try to build through the draft.

The Vikings will enter...

Vikings hire Gary Kubiak as offensive adviser

Gary Kubiak will not return to an offensive coordinator role in 2019. Instead, he will take a job with the Vikings as an offensive adviser, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com tweets. He was linked to a Minnesota role earlier Monday, and his son’s new position likely played a key role. Klint Kubiak is expected to become the Vikings’ quarterbacks coach, Schefter reports. This will be Gary Kubiak’s first time on the sidelines in a non-HC role since he was the 2014 Ravens’ OC. He will undoubtedly...

The Denver Mafia Arrives

The staff for the Minnesota Broncos appears to be taking shape

Gary Kubiak, huh? As what?

Really? Well, what does a ‘senior offensive advisor’ do, advise offenses or offensively advise? The latter could be funny:

‘Run the ball, you dimwitted twit!’

‘Your tackling looks like a fart come to life!’

Wait, what’s that? Oh, advise the offense. Well, fine. Just take the fun out of everything, then.

Oh, his son, too? And a guy that ran a terrible offense is going to be the offensive...

The Kubiak Package Deal

When I first read of Gary Kubiak being signed by the Vikings in a ‘senior offensive role’, I thought it was a good hire. Kubiak has a lot of experience to bring to the table and could be a good resource for Kevin Stefanski as offensive coordinator.

But as further details became available, I became a bit more skeptical of what was being put forward as a “package deal.” The “package deal” is said to include Kubiak’s son Klint, who will serve as QB coach, and Brian Pariani as...

Report: Vikings hire Gary Kubiak for offensive advisor role

Gary Kubiak is leaving the Denver Broncos to join another NFL organization this offseason, but it will not be for an offensive coordinator job. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Minnesota Vikings are hiring Kubiak in an offensive advisory role. Report: Vikings hiring Gary Kubiak in advisory role

In an attempt to turn this ship around, the Minnesota Vikings have reportedly hired former Houston Texans and Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak in an advisory role. Kubiak coached the Broncos from 2015-16 before abruptly resigning due to health issues. He was still a member of the organization up until last week with the expectation that he might take over the offensive coordinator role under first-year head coach Vic Fangio. That never came to fruition. Instead, the Broncos opted to let...
