Only two rounds but Cleveland ends up with... one of their own
Many things in sports media are either information or thought experiments. Mock drafts, for example, are just thought experiments about what could happen based on a set of other variables occurring. The one we completed Tuesday for the Cleveland Browns included variables related to free agency as well.
The NFL draft has not only become big business but it is the lifeblood of teams. The...

GM Andrew Berry should be looking to add another pass catcher for QB Deshaun Watson, according to The 33rd Team’s Jeff Diamond.
Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry took a look at the team’s wide receiver position a year ago and, not liking what he saw, went to work on fixing the issue.
Berry made the wise decision to move on from wide receiver Jarvis Landry after four years, and that move paid off as Landry’s production declined...

Taking a swing at a revamp Browns roster in 2023
As we continue to bring you a weekly Cleveland Browns mock draft, we try to switch it up a little bit while keeping it realistic. Yesterday, Barry shared with you his idea from Senior Bowl only players that could be selected where the Browns select. Thankfully, the NFL draft is full of a lot more players than just those down in Mobile.
As happens every year, it is much easier to provide mock drafts than it...

Not just any prolate spheroid will do
The National Football League has rules and restrictions about every aspect of their game. Obviously, they are very protective about the appearance of the shield.
And they should be.
Jerry Jones purchased the Dallas Cowboys in 1989 for $140 million. Since those days, revenue from NFL clubs has skyrocketed and teams are now worth an average of $4.47 billion. That figure is actually 28% more than just a year ago.
For 2022, the...

We... are as shocked as all of you
One of the biggest and most important changes that the Cleveland Browns made this offseason was to move on from DC Joe Woods and hire Jim Schwartz. In fact, Schwartz’s hire is one of just three things noted that the team needed this offseason to get back to the playoffs in 2023.
Woods’ defenses were significantly lacking. While the defensive tackle position left something to be desired, the Browns couldn’t stop...

The addition would make new DC Jim Schwartz very happy
As we noted, the coverage of the NFL’s offseason is mainly backward but there is little that can be done to change that. For those of us who love the NFL draft, we wouldn’t want to either. Unfortunately, trying to guess where free agents will sign is both difficult and lacks interest...

This season the NFL launched a reimagined Pro Bowl, hoping to grow player engagement while making the annual all-star contest a bit safer and more fun.
Taking tackling out of the equation did not prevent all injuries at the inaugural Pro Bowl Games. Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett limped off the field during one of Sunday's flag football games in Las Vegas, and the team later confirmed reports that Garrett had dislocated his toe.
