TOJ New York Jets Film Breakdown – Marcus Maye In Coverage

New York Jets safety Marcus Maye had an encouraging, although inconsistent rookie season. Despite being a second round pick, usually cursed territory for the Jets, he started 16 games and finished playing over 95% of the team’s snaps. After a fast start, Maye struggled down the stretch but overall had the look of a player who could be Jamal Adams’ running mate for a prolonged period of time. Considering how much the Jets move Adams around the formation, they regularly counted on Maye...

Jets 2018 Roster Countdown: Number 92 Leonard Williams

Our roster countdown now moves to the best player on the roster, Leonard Williams.

Name: Leonard Williams

Number: 92

Year with Jets: 4th

Projected Role: Star defensive lineman

His 2017: Coming off a Pro Bowl second NFL season, Williams’ 2017 looks unspectacular if you focus on basic stats, 47 tackles and 2 sacks. An interior type defensive lineman’s impact doesn’t always show up in the stats, however. The job is predicated to a large degree on creating disruption, which helps others...

Jets Brasil – Qual A Importancia De Josh McCown?

New York Jets Position Review: Wide Receiver

This week I will be reviewing the wide receiver position. The New York Jets wide receiver group has unfairly been spoken about very poorly by many members of the national media. People talk about the Jets lack of talents at key skill positions like WR, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. If things break right for the Jets health wise, and all their guys can stay on the field, they will have a very strong unit. They have a combination speed, size, good hands, and good routes. The...

New York Jets – Breaking Down The Defensive End Battle

What has long been the premium position for the New York Jets, the defensive end spot has quietly lost some talent over the last couple of years. In 2015 the Jets were flushed with goods to say the least. Muhammed Wilkerson was having a career year, Sheldon Richardson was as versatile as it got for a man his size and Leonard Williams the sixth overall pick and arguably the best player in the 2015 draft. Not to mention they had one of the best nose tackles in the game with Damon “Snacks”...

Jets 2018 Roster Countdown: Number 93 Deon Simon

Our Jets roster countdown continues with a look at Deon Simon.

Name: Deon Simon

Number: 93

Year with Jets: 4th

Projected Role: Camp body competing for backup defensive lineman roster spot.

His 2017: Simon failed to make the roster out of training camp and was signed to the practice squad. He spent most of the season there before being signed to the active roster right before the final game of the season.

2018 will be a success if: Simon turns into a quality rotational defensive lineman. It...

Our countdown of the 2018 Jets roster continues with a look at rookie defensive lineman Folorunso Fatukasi.

Name: Folorunso Fatukasi

Number: 94

Year with Jets: 1st

Projected Role: Practice squader

His 2017: Fatukasi recorded 45 tackles, 7.5 of which went for a loss in his final college season at UConn.

SB Nation’s The UConn Blog had this to say about his college career.

Fatukasi was a beast for UConn and also benefitted himself by demonstrating some scheme versatility in moving from Bob...

New York Jets’ Terrelle Pryor represents that long-awaited Brad Smith replacement

Though it’s taken plenty of time, the New York Jets look to have finally replaced the ultra-versatile Brad Smith with Terrelle Pryor. The Rex Ryan New York Jets weren’t difficult to figure out. Actually, they played week-to-week as a bit of a throwback. While most teams had already converted to the chameleon-like game-planning strategy Bill Belichick had slowly implemented up north, Rex’s Jets remained true to who they were regardless of situation and opponent. This team would throw a...
