Titans Links: Revisionist History

NFL.com has a re-do of the 2017 NFL draft. They have the Titans selecting Marshon Lattimore with the 5th overall pick and Dalvin Tomlinson with the 18th pick. I still think Davis and Adoree are going to prove to be very very good players for the Titans, but Lattimore was one of the best CBs in the entire league his rookie year. If I’m going off this mock draft I take Lattimore at 5 and Marcus Williams at 18. No more secondary problems.

Takeaways from Jon Robinson and Mike Vrabel’s Draft Week Press Conference

Mike Vrabel and Jon Robinson sat down with press on Monday to discuss the upcoming NFL Draft.

Draft Week is upon us.

Tennessee Titans General Manager Jon Robinson and Head Coach Mike Vrabel took questions from the media on Monday about the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft, which of course kicks off Thursday night in Dallas.

Robinson performed his typical “say nothing using as many words as possible” routine, but he did drop a few useful tidbits and hints concerning what we might see later this...

2018 NFL Draft Random Thoughts: Hubbard vs Sweat, Justin Reid & a WR Sleeper

Mike provided us a great list of potential first round players that the Titans have met with, and so I wanted to dig a little deeper into the edge rusher debate, particularly Sam Hubbard vs Josh Sweat. The two are fascinating prospects because they are so, so different. Hubbard has everything you want in a pass rusher but lacks elite athleticism. That is very likely going to limit his ceiling. Still, its easy to see why he has drawn attention. He has demonstrated a variety of pass rush...

Titans Links: Draft Week

Draft week is finally upon us. After months of anticipation, we no longer have to wait any more. As we know, the Titans have the 25th overall pick. They have shown a lot of interest in safeties and outside linebackers in terms of their visits. These are the facts of the draft and they are undisputed.

NFL.com has 4 prospects that could be surprise 1st round selections. They are Hayden Hurst, Frank Ragnow, Isaiah Oliver, and Sony Michel. I don’t think Hurst would be much of a surprise due...

2018 NFL Draft: Dean of the Defense

What are some of the thoughts this week on the defensive prospects in the class? It’s a very deep class in terms of overall depth at most positions.

EDGE / DE

- Hercules Maatafa (Washington State) is a beast without a position. He is a production monster. I’m a huge fan of his. He could be a steal late in the draft for someone.

- Ogbonnia Okoronkwo (Oklahoma) is good, folks. He was a star at Oklahoma for his brief period of time in Norman. There were some questions about his size...

History tells us the Titans will draft one of these seven players in the first round

The past is the best predictor of the future, right?

Wednesday was the cut off for official pre-draft visits between prospects and teams which means we likely now have all the visit information that we are going to get before the 2018 NFL Draft kicks off on April 26th. There could still be some after-the-fact reports that trickle out, but for the most part the known visitor list is complete.

That list has proven to be important in years past as I laid out last week in our Draft Primer. The...

Titans Links: Know Your Enemy

Do you know your enemy? Well the Titans already knew their enemies, but now we know exactly when we’ll play them with the release of the schedule last night. The schedule includes 3 primetime matchups, yet somehow no SNF game. One day.

Bucky Brooks has the perfect pairing for the Titans with their first two picks. In the first round he says we should grab Harold Landry and in the 2nd round he has us taking Frank Ragnow. I don’t think either player will be available when we pick.

2018 NFL Draft: The LaFleur of Vrabel’s Stables

What are some of the thoughts this week on the offensive prospects as we get nearer to the draft?

QB

- Mason Rudolph (Oklahoma State) is getting that last minute QB draft bump as of late. He’s a system QB that thrived on the Pistol / Air Raid hybrid that the Pokes have run successfully for the entirety of Mullet Mike’s tenure in Stillwater. I just don’t see it with him.

- Lamar Jackson (Louisville) is still my QB2 on the board. He’s an electric playmaker that can score from anywhere...
