Mel Kiper Mock Draft: Titans land Miami edge rusher Gregory Rousseau

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Draft season is here, which means mock draft season is also here. For the Titans, this isn’t a difficult situation to figure out. They have a clear need on the edge after being routinely gashed through the air during the 2020 season. The pass rush was nowhere to be found, and opposing quarterbacks generally had their way with this defense.

The Titans ranked 30th in the league in sacks, getting home just 19 times last season. With Jadeveon Clowney set to hit...

Jeff Fisher is campaigning for the Tennessee head coach job

There are fair questions about how appealing the Tennessee Volunteers head coaching position is right now with the threat of looming NCAA sanctions. There has been a lot of talk that the cloud hovering over the program could scare some candidates off.

Titans executives Ryan Cowden and Monti Ossenfort appear to be staying put

This is excellent news for the Tennessee Titans. Two front office members, Ryan Cowden and Monti Ossenfort appear to be staying put in Tennessee after both executives spent time interviewing for other GM jobs around the league in recent weeks.

Cowden was a candidate for the Washington Football Team job. He seemed like strong candidate given the fact that he worked alongside Ron Rivera in Carolina. Washington went on to hire ex-Panthers GM Martin Mayhew instead.

Titans interview Chargers QB coach Pep Hamilton, denied request for Texans OC Tim Kelly

At last, we finally have another update on the Titans coordinator search. The last update featured one name on offense and one name on defense. Both names are on offense this time around as the Titans continue to hunt for Arthur Smith’s replacement.

The first name comes in the form of current Chargers QB coach Pep Hamilton.

#Chargers QBs coach Pep Hamilton has a big few days ahead. He’s interviewing for the #Titans OC job and the #Steelers OC job in the coming days, per me and...

Arthur Smith reportedly hires Dean Pees in Atlanta

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

He’s coming out of retirement again.

The Tennessee Titans certainly missed Dean Pees in 2020. The veteran defensive coordinator retired following the 2019 season, leaving a void on the coaching staff that wasn’t ever exactly filled. Mike Vrabel elevated outside linebackers coach Shane Bowen, but didn’t officially give him the coordinator title.

Today, Pees is back — just not with the Titans. He’s joining the Atlanta Falcons as a part of...

The accolades keep coming. This is great to see. Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry has been named the 2020 NFL Offensive Player of the Year by the Professional Football Writers of America.

Henry became the first Titan to win the award, which was first presented in 1992.

This is the second honor awarded to Henry this week from the Pro Football Writers of America, which named Henry to its 2020 All-NFL Team just a few days ago.

Could Aaron Glenn be a candidate for the Titans DC job?

This could be something to monitor. We know that the Titans are potentially interested in hiring a defensive coordinator, something they didn’t have (in name) last season. There’s no guarantee that a hire will be made at all (or they could simply promote Shane Bowen), but there’s at least some outside interest here given the fact that they interviewed Teryl Austin recently.

We know that coaches typically like to hire someone they have a connection...

Philip Rivers retires

Photo by Timothy T Ludwig/Getty Images

Philip Rivers announced this morning that he is retiring. He will become the head coach for a high school football team in Alabama. Can we get a camera to follow him on the sidelines so we can still have GIFs to use of the faces he makes?

Rivers retires with 63,440 passing yards and 421 touchdowns. He also constantly tortured the Titans throughout his career. Luckily the last time the Titans saw him they were able to beat him. That gave the Titans their...

Derrick Henry makes PFWA All-NFL team

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

This was a no brainer. This should come as a surprise to no one, but Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry continues to rack up accomplishments on the back of his special 2,000 yard season.

The most recent accolade for The King comes from Pro Football Writers of America, which named Henry to its 2020 All-NFL Team for the second straight year. It was also the third consecutive year that he was named to the All-AFC Team.

If that was it for Corey Davis in Tennessee, it deserved better

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

As we continue to reflect on the playoff loss to the Ravens, there’s a chance we’ve seen Corey Davis play his last game in a Tennessee Titans uniform. It’s a sad thought.

And if that’s the case, it deserved better.

Davis’ tenure in Tennessee has often been marked by disappointment. Davis has always been a great team player, but he’s never been a true No. 1 receiver. Those are the expectations that come with being the fifth overall...

Arthur Smith named Falcons head coach

Photo by: 2019 Nick Cammett/Diamond Images via Getty Images

It’s now official, Arthur Smith is the new head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. We knew this was probably going to happen this morning when it was reported that the Falcons had made him an offer. A huge congratulation to Art. He has a really cool story. There aren’t many people in his situation that would pay his dues like Arthur has. I think he will do a great job.

It will be interesting to see where the Titans turn from here....
