It was a win the Guardians badly needed
The Guardians did the impossible and took down the Angels today after trailing 3-0 early. This was a win that I felt like the Guardians really needed, as the Angels seem to have their number. It was a huge game for Gabriel Arias, as he went 2-4 with the game winning hit that was a 2 RBI double in the bottom of the 7th that was hit 110 mph off the bat. Let’s hope today was the start of him coming out of the...
Gabriel Arias had a two-run, go-ahead double in the seventh inning as the Cleveland Guardians rallied from four runs down and held on for a 7-5 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Angels on Saturday afternoon.

He’ll return strictly as a designated hitter, as he still isn’t able to throw in the wake of his surgery.
The Cleveland Guardians activated designated hitter David Fry from the 60-day injured list and added him to the roster prior to Saturday's game against the visiting Los Angeles Angels.

News and Notes for Saturday, May 11th, 2025
Last night was rough. The Guardians lost to the Angels 4-1 and seemingly lost reliever Andrew Walters for a significant period of time with an arm injury. Jose Ramirez lost his hitting streak, also.
There were positives, however. I was at the game and the crowd was large and lively. Luis Ortiz was good, again. And, it’s one game. Time to turn it around tonight.

Quite a run
While Jose Ramirez extended his on-base streak with a walk today, he was not able to solve Jose Soriano and his 21-game hitting streak came to an end.
Jose is so special; we can never take too much time appreciating him. So, if you'd like to relive the hits he collected over the past month, you can do so with ad-free clips below.

Offense goes quiet as Soriano and the Angels top the Guards in the Opener.
Well.
Infuriating, to say the least. The Guardians had no shortage of scoring opportunities but squandered almost all of them. Whether via 3 (THREE) GIDPs, or an inability to get a 2-out hit with a runner (or runners) on, the Guardians looked hapless against Soriano and the Angels tonight. Jones broke the streak in the 9th with a nice 2-out single. Extremely frustrating to keep...

They aren’t giving us any clues
Lane Thomas is headed to the injured list and the team will be replacing him. But, no one knows yet who that replacement will be.
Every player on the 40-man roster in Columbus played in tonight’s Clippers’ game:
Brayan Rocchio, David Fry, Petey Halpin, and Johnathan Rodriguez all played (all also got hits).
Fan darlings CJ Kayfus and Chase DeLauter also played.

Lets dive into the causes and impact of his declining speed
As Steven Kwan continues another fantastic season in an abysmal Cleveland outfield, there is one part of his game that appears concerning. Steven Kwan in his debut season was in the 80th percentile of sprint speed; now he is in only the 35th. While it would be easy to say that his hamstring issues are the cause of the problem, I think there is a little more nuance. Over the course of the season we...
Cleveland Guardians minor league recap for Friday, May 30, 2025
Columbus Clippers 7, Rochester Red Wings 8 (F/10)Box Score · Clippers fall to 22-29
The top of the Clippers batting order was terrific, but the Columbus bullpen blew a late lead, then blew the game in extra innings.
Petey Halpin had a great game, going 2-for-4 with his fifth home run of the season. He’s batting .288 with a .839 OPS. Already on the 40-man, could he be the answer if Lane Thomas and/or Steven Kwan have to spend...

News and Notes for Thursday, May 29th, 2025.
The Cleveland Guardians avoided a sweep with an 8th inning rally. The quality of at bats from throughout the order yesterday was a breath of fresh air, especially Nolan Jones. Jones came in for Steven Kwan and went 3-for-3 including two hits vs. lefties and one against right handed pitching.
