Meet the MetsThe Mets were dealt a stunning loss by the Marlins by a score of 10-9 in extra innings. The Mets carried a four-run lead into the ninth and the struggling Edwin Díaz came into the game in a non-save situation and coughed up the lead, punctuated by a game tying three-run homer by Josh Bell. The Mets were unable to get the ghost runner home in the top of the tenth and...
From the moment spring training began, everyone was excited to see the return of New York Mets closer Edwin Díaz. And what do you know, he appeared to still be the sharp, electric closer in the game.
The Miami Marlins -- who have the third-lowest payroll in the majors -- have won a season-high four consecutive games. The New York Mets -- who have the highest payroll in the majors -- are in a swoon, having lost seven of the past nine games.

The Mets almost won but they lost in the worst way possible instead.
Edwin Díaz’s horrific struggles continued and he blew his third straight game in the Mets heartbreaking 10-9 loss to the Marlins. He gave up four runs in the ninth topped off by Josh Bell’s three-run home run. Miami came into this series dead last in the league in offense but they had no issues scoring many, many runs in both games of this series so far.

Meet the MetsThe Mets were soundly defeated by the Marlins 8-0 last night. Christian Scott had his first truly bad start, though he did pull a Houdini act, getting out of a bases loaded, nobody out situation to avoid an even worse final line than his four runs on seven hits through four innings of work. The Mets’ bullpen surrendered four more runs of insurance and the...

Iowa scored two in the ninth but this was a resounding win for Syracuse regardless. The Mets followed up one of their best wins of the year with one of their dullest losses of the year, as the Marlins handily beat the Mets 8-0 in their first meeting of the 2024 campaign.
The story of the 2024 Mets has been one of inconsistency. From starting 0-5, to rattling off truly impressive series wins against the Braves and Dodgers in mid-April, to the offense being mired in a truly awful to watch slump in May, they just never seem to get a run of...

New York Mets closer Edwin Diaz may still be learning to adjust to the pitch clock.
