With most of the roster in a slump, the Pirates could benefit by bringing up new or new-ish faces.
Let’s face it, the Pittsburgh Pirates looked abysmal in the Bay Area this week.
Starting pitchers and Ke’Bryan Hayes aside, no one on the roster stood out. Lots of strikeouts, watched strikes and weak contact were noticed as the Pirates lost both series to San Francisco and Oakland. That said, changes must be made before the Bucs come home to host...

One common criticism of Pittsburgh Pirates manager Derek Shelton is his unwillingness to stick with a set lineup every day. The Pirates offense has been pathetic lately and is a chief reason why they’re 5-16 in their last 21 games.
Pirates’ minor league affiliates went 2-2 on Wednesday with scoring outbursts from the Indianapolis Indians and the Greensboro Grasshoppers. Triple-A Indianapolis saw their offense explode against the Buffalo Bisons despite managing just one home run, a solo shot from Andrés Alvarez.
