Adam Peters made the right call
I could probably write one of these for most of this year’s draft picks, but I won’t. I did write glowing reviews for Brandon Coleman and Luke McCaffrey, but I intend for this paean to be in a league of its own, because I’m just that excited about the prospect.
I’ve said it here before, and I’ll say it again: I watch very little college football during the fall. I may watch a Maryland game...

Can Peters and company find a diamond in the rough?
Adam Peters and crew wasted absolutely no time after the end of the 2024 draft reaching out to, and signing, a whole passel of undrafted free agents. Scott did a great job aggregating that information immediately after the draft at the link below, but I thought I’d take a closer look at each of the players now that the dust has settled.

Who is Washington picking in 2025?
One last mock draft roundup? Yes one last mock draft roundup, this time looking at the way too early projections for Washington's 1st round draft pick in 2025. The mock drafters do not think Washington will be successful next season, with a draft range from #1 - #11. Vegas has also set expectations below average with a starting line of 6.5 wins for Washington in 2025. Super Bowl odds are...

Taking a chance on a high floor, high ceiling prospect
If I’m being honest with you, dear reader, and I always am, the only things I knew about wide receiver Luke McCaffrey 48 hours ago were that he was part of the illustrious McCaffrey clan (father Ed, brother Christian), that he played for Rice University, and that I could reliably pick him up in the 5th round or so of various mock drafts, if I had wanted to, which I generally didn’t.
What I’ve...

This is what it looks like with adults in charge
Continuing from where we left off yesterday, the DraftBot has agreed to grade the Commanders picks in the 2024 draft. It took some convincing, because the DraftBot’s hybrid biological/synthetic neural network processor is highly logical, and has only recently started to experience things that we take for granted, such as entertainment.
For the proper inducements, the DraftBot agreed to take on this...

Taking a chance on a high floor, high ceiling prospect
What a draft!?! After a whirlwind three days, Washington has added nine draftees and even more undrafted free agents.
1. Washington #Commanders - Avg #RAS 9.427
Washington had two players who didn't test, and if they had they likely would have had an even higher average RAS. 2nd rounder Mike Sainristil had their worst RAS at 8.45, which says a lot about their approach this...
Not only did Hartman find a home, but he landed with a team that believes in him.
It sounds like the former Notre Dame QB will have a legitimate chance to make the Commanders roster next season.
Washington is taking care of Sam Hartman. After the veteran Wake Forest and Notre Dame quarterback went undrafted this weekend, he struck a very nice deal with the Commanders.
Yet another year of unabated draft contest excitement
The 2024 (eighth annual) Pick-3 draft prediction contest was yet another installment in the history of the annual Hogs Haven draft extravaganza!

Draft grades!
There is a long tradition of people giving draft picks a grade less than 24 hours after they’ve been made. Some of them are spot on after the players have shown who they are after a few years in the league, and some of them look pretty bad. A lot of graders get stuck on their personal rankings, and will tank a player’s selection because of that. How a player fits with a team, and their needs plays a big part here as...
Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman is set to sign with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent, Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz reported.
The Washington Commanders have wrapped up the 2024 NFL draft. They selected a total of nine players, but believe it or not, the work isn't done, quite yet.
