A Chicago man convicted of murder a decade ago based in part on testimony from an eyewitness who is legally blind is suing the city and the police department.

Darien Harris was convicted by a judge in 2014 in connection with a 2011 fatal shooting at a South Side gas station. He was 12 years into a 76-year prison sentence when he was released in December after The Exoneration Project showed that the eyewitness had advanced glaucoma and lied about his eyesight issues.

At least five people were shot Monday night in a mass shooting in Sacramento, California, according to police.

Sacramento Police responded to the area of Coral Gables Court and Meadowview Road in South Sacramento at around 8:18 p.m. to a report of a shooting, according to Fox 40.

A stone quarry collapsed Tuesday in India’s northeast due to heavy rains triggered by a tropical storm, killing 13 quarry workers, officials said, while 16 remain missing.

Senior police officer Rahul Alwal said rescuers recovered the bodies of those killed from the quarry in Melthum, about 3.7 miles from the state capital Aizwal, and were able to pull out two workers alive from the debris.

Man accused of running nude through airplane arrested by Australian police

A man accused of running naked down the aisle of an Australian domestic flight, knocking down a flight attendant and forcing the plane to turn back, was arrested by police at the airport, officials said on Tuesday.
