When the Chicago Cubs acquired Cole Hamels from the Texas Rangers at the trading deadline, fans were unsure of what they would get from the 34-year-old southpaw. In 20 starts with the Rangers this year he was certainly underwhelming, posting a 4.72 ERA (backed by an even worse 5.20 FIP), 1.37 WHIP, and allowing 9.1 hits per nine innings.
