Cardinals haven’t played them in 2020, so you may be unaware of the Padres team.

The Cardinals went into yesterday with a good chance to make the playoffs, win or lose. They may have needed help from the San Francisco Giants or to play the doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers, but the easiest route was to just win.
