Warren Buffett has surpassed Jeff Bezos in wealth and closed in on Bill Gates this year. Overtaking Gates would make Buffett the second-richest American, after Elon Musk. Berkshire Hathaway stock has risen this year while Microsoft, Amazon and Tesla shares have plunged.
