Meta was fined $414 million by Ireland's Data Protection Commission on Wednesday. It violated EU privacy laws by forcing personalized ads, but the Facebook owner plans to appeal. Max Schrems, who submitted the complaint, told Insider Meta will need to ask for users' consent.
