History says there was a high quality pitching matchup on this day 25 years ago, but offense ended up ruling the day more.

It’s quite likely that there were plenty of people in attendance at Yankee Stadium on April 24, 1999 who had no idea the quality of pitching matchup they were getting that day between the Yankees and Blue Jays. Frankly from the final score, you wouldn’t have though that this would be a battle between two of the best pitchers in each franchise’s history.
