It’s the anniversary of one of the craziest things ever to happen in the history of the Boston Red Sox: Doug Mirabelli’s Police Escort.

May 1, 2006 Doug Mirabelli gets a police escort to @fenwaypark to catch Tim Wakefield vs the Yankees after the #RedSox reacquire him from the Padres. His plane landed in Boston at 6:48 pm and he changed in the car. #WBZ camera was there!
