We are finally getting some MLB news.
The Padres signed Eric Hosmer to an 8-year, $144 million contract. He’ll get 5 years of $20 million a year and then 3 years of $13 million. There is a opt out clause, Hosmer can opt out after year 5. And he has a no-trade clause for the first 3 years.
I don’t understand the no-trade thing, 8 years for Hosmer makes him impossible to trade.
The contract covers his age 28 to age 35 seasons.
