That game had a ton of stuff, but most of it was not good.
We could just talk about moments:
Manoah was good through 3 innings but looked tired in the fourth, and when the team doesn’t have a long man and has a few overworked or injured (Garcia) guys in pen, they tried to milk all they could out of him, But in the fourth, he gave up a leadoff single. Then there was a popout. A walk and a ground out followed, and it...Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports
Brendon Little was the unlucky one to get sent down to make room for Manoah.
Today’s lineup. Bo moves up one spot from yesterday. Kirk is in, batting seventh. Yesterday’s home run hitter, Kevin Kiermaier, sits against the lefty.
There is rain in the forecast again. Hopefully, there won’t be too much rain.

It is Cinco de Mayo in Mexico, but Alek Manoah Day here.
The Jays made a minor trade late last night. They picked up right-handed pitcher Joel Kuhnel from the Astros for cash. He’s been optioned to Buffalo.
He’s 29, a big guy, 6’5”, 290. He’s pitched 77 games in the MLB with a 6.30 ERA but a 4.53 FiP. In 85.2 innings, he has 24 walks and 72 strikeouts. In his 87.1 innings in Triple-A, he has a 4.84 ERA with 27 walks and 67 strikeouts.
Kuhnel...
Kevin Gausman pitched into the sixth inning and the visiting Toronto Blue Jays ended a three-game losing streak with a 6-3 win against the Washington Nationals on Saturday.

Stop me if you have heard this one, but the Jays scored early, 4 runs in the first, and their starter did a very nice job, but they didn’t score again and the bullpen had 3.2 innings to cover.
Kevin Gausman was good. I didn’t think he was as sharp as we have seen him in the past. But he didn’t allow a run, going 5.1 innings, allowing just 3 hits and 2 walks with 8 strikeouts. He wasn’t very efficient, throwing 112 pitches in the...
It’s official: Alek Manoah will start for the Blue Jays on Sunday, marking his season debut. He has an 8.69 ERA in five minor-league starts. While his ERA is not good, the minors aren’t the majors.
The pitcher is set to make his return to the majors on Sunday.
The Blue Jays lost 9-3 to the Washington Nationals on Friday, their third consecutive loss and ninth in their last 12 games.

So there is news: Alek Manoah will start tomorrow’s game for the Blue Jays.
I’ll likely put that up as a separate post, but I’m slowly getting this one together.
There is a shakeup in the lineup. Bo moves down, and Daulton moves up. Turner plays third, Volgelbach DHes.

Alek Manoah will start tomorrow’s game for the Jays.
You’ll remember Alek’s last start for the Bisons was very good. 6 innings of 2-hit ball, with 2 walks and 12 strikeouts. One of the two hits was a home run, the only run against him. I hope it works out.
No word on who will be coming off the roster to make room, but we’ll find out tomorrow.
I’m cheering for you Alek. I’d love this to be the same story as Roy Halladay.
The journey for Alek Manoah to try to reclaim his past standing as one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball will return to MLB action this weekend.
The Toronto Blue Jays reinstated outfielder Kevin Kiermaier from the 10-day injured list ahead of Saturday's game against the Nationals in Washington, D.C.

Yesterday the Jays sent Addison Barger down and called up Nathan Lukes. That, to me, suggested that Kevin Kiermaier wouldn't be back for a bit. Cause why exchange bench players for one game. It might make us think that you don't know what you are doing.
Today... Kiermaier is activated, Lukes is sent down. I really don't understand. You make Lukes come to Washington to sit on the bench and then send him back to Buffalo. Is this smart business...

I don’t know what I’d do.
I have some guesses.
Change around the batting order. Springer isn’t getting on base at all. Bo seems lost. I’d put Vlad at the top of the order. He’s getting on base lately. Turner third. Schneider cleanup. Daulton second. Danny fifth. Clement after that. And let the rest fall where they will. This does explain some of last night:Yimi Garcia was unavailable due to back soreness per Schneider. He felt it after last outing...
Pinch hitter Luis Garcia Jr. hit a three-run home run in a four-run seventh and the Washington Nationals defeated the visiting Toronto Blue Jays 9-3 Friday night.

This one started well.
Yusei Kikuchi was terrific. Six innings, 6 hits, 1 earned, 1 walk, and 7 strikeouts. He was untouchable for most of his time out there. He, so much, deserved better.
And we got three runs in the second:
Danny Jansen walked. Davis Schneider doubled. Daulton Varsho doubled in two. Isiah Kiner Falefa singled, but Varsho didn’t get to third, as he had to wait to see if the liner fell. Ernie Clement put down a bunt....Photo by Jess Rapfogel/Getty Images
We have an Apple TV game today, just to get me to subscribe to it again. Oh well.
And it is a weird start time. 6:45 Eastern.
We have a battle of lefties:
Patrick Corbin has had a rough start to the season. After 6 starts, he has a 6.82 ERA. Please, Jays, let’s not lower that. Yusei Kikuchi has a 2.94 ERA after 6 starts.Tonight’s lineups:
